I'm Ayush Rai, an AI engineer and AI product builder working remotely (www.ayushrai.site). My paid work includes contract evaluation for frontier-lab programs through FoCDoT and Outlier. Alongside that I build AI products and client software, from an early civil-society coordination prototype to education and agrotech MVPs. I would rather describe what shipped, and what did not, than sound futuristic.

Based in Remote. Day work leans toward AI evaluation and generative systems; evenings and weekends go to products, client sites, and careful notes on what actually shipped.

### SDE — AI Engineer

I worked on AI engineering and technical evaluation at FoCDoT from April 2024 to August 2025. The work involved reviewing model outputs against evaluation criteria and analyzing coding and STEM tasks.

### AI evaluation contributor (contract)

Outlier · 2025-08 – present · part-time

Through Outlier, I have contributed to generative AI evaluation workflows — dataset quality for LLM training, prompting strategies for Python/JavaScript tasks, and review loops that catch brittle model behavior. It is hands-on evaluation and improvement work, not a keynote role.

I spent a year as a Student Developer Champion around RPA and automation — workshops, mentoring, and community events. The useful part was learning how to teach tooling without turning sessions into vendor theater.
